History of the Stahl Building

There is an old brick building on Main Street in Athena that has been the heart of our town since 1904. Originally built to house saloons for Stahl Brewing Company of Walla Walla, Washington, the building has been occupied by a variety of tenants over the years– including the Corner Saloon, Eagle Bar, E.A. Bennett's Paint and Wallpaper, W.R. Harden Confectionery and Cigars, U.S. Post Office, Kirk Implement House, Rogers and Goodman Hardware & Implements , and most recently, Pendleton Grain Growers (PGG). Research is ongoing.
