ATHENA YOUTH CITIZEN of the YEAR

Each Spring, Weston-McEwen High School Awards Assembly

AMA awards outstanding graduating Weston-McEwen High School seniors that have shown exemplary service to their community. Students are identified by WMHS teachers and staff, and presented with the award at the WMHS assembly each spring.

ATHENA YARD of the MONTH CONTEST

Monthly, June through August

AMA's Contest Committee coordinates a monthly Yard-of-the-Month contest and delivers a yard sign for display in the winning garden.

ATHENA COMMUNITY-WIDE YARD SALE DAY

Annually in May

On odd-numbered years, AMA holds a fundraiser yard sale during the annual Athena Community Yard Sale in May. Community donations are welcome for this AMA fundraiser event- bring us the good stuff! 

ATHENA CALEDONIAN GAMES PARADE

Second Weekend in July, Main Street Athena

AMA participates in the annual Athena Caledonian Games parade on Main Street, in support of this heritage event.

MAIN STREET TRUNK-OR-TREAT

October 31st, Main Street

AMA witches participate in the annual Trunk-or-Treat event on Main Street, organized by the Athena Christian Church.

ATHENA HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY

Annually in December, Dugger Park on Main Street

AMA coordinates the installation and decoration of a community tree at Dugger Park on Main Street. The casual ceremony typically includes hot cocoa, candy canes and the official lighting of the tree.

ATHENA HOLIDAY LIGHTING CONTEST

Mid-December, Annually

AMA's Contest Committee coordinates an annual holiday lighting contest and awards gift certificates from local businesses as prizes for the winners.
