The Work

AMA's biggest project to date has been managing the renovation of the Historic Stahl Building on Main Street. AMA purchased the building in 2017 and is working to restore the building to serve as a community gathering and event space for Athena. AMA headquarters is also located in a portion of the building.

The unthinkable happened. As we were seeking donations to purchase the old PGG building, there was a malfunction with the old oil furnace down in the basement. The system blew black soot through all the ductwork, and throughout the building. Black, greasy soot. Everywhere.

We knew cleaning the mess was going to be a major undertaking, but, despite this major setback, we still felt that restoring the building was important and we would just figure out how to take on the mess. 

Athena Mainstreet formed a team to work on the cleanup and restoration of the historic structure on Main Street. This page chronicles the work we've accomplished since AMA purchased the building and the Historic Stahl Building Steering Committee was formed to oversee the project. We've come a long way, baby!
