CLEANING UP THE SOOT – ROUND ONE (2018)

The unthinkable happened. As we were seeking donations to purchase the old PGG building, there was a malfunction with the old oil furnace down in the basement. The system blew black soot through all the ductwork, and throughout the building. Black, greasy soot. Everywhere.

We started at the front door, and worked our way in. The old retail counter and other soot-covered fixtures were removed, then the vacuuming began. 

CLEANING UP THE SOOT – ROUND TWO (2019)

The cleanup continued…gradually…shopvac-ing ceilings, walls, floors…wiping what we could with cleaner and wadded newspapers. 

CLEANING UP THE SOOT – ROUND THREE (2020)

Wow what a mess, still. We were able to clean the mezzanine areas and stairs by hand, but the main floor of Bay 1 and Bay 2 were just too much. It was suggested we try and rent a power floor scrubber- and boy did that do the trick!
